Fierce Light: When Spirit Meets Action, like all my films, began at the place where the questions appearing in my own personal consciousness, and those emerging in the global consciousness, came into alignment.  

All my life, I have been driven by two main forces - my comittment to helping to make the world a better place, as a media activist, and my need to understand my inner self, and it's place in the universe - what is often called spirituality. For many years, these two driving forces had been seperated, isolated.  

In the wake of the death of my friend, Brad WIll, a media activist who was killed while filming a people's uprising in Oaxaca, I found myself questioning the role of both spirituality and activism in my life.   I needed answers, I needed to become integrated, I needed to reconcile these two halves of my being together, to become whole.  I needed an "industrial strength spirituality" that could stand up to the challenges of  real life, and I needed a deep, heart centered approach to activism that could nourish me while I helped to create change in the world.   Looking around me, I discovered that many other people were asking the same questions.  Fierce Light is the story of my journey to discover what happens when spirituality and activism come together.
